DCni Kopitiam, Kemaman

This is a Malay-owned kopitiam. Located in Chukai, Kemaman in Terengganu. They serve coffee and kaya toast. And other foods too.

A nice & comfortable place for the family and friends to hang-out.

Nasi Dagang Ulik Mayang

This restaurant is famous for their nasi dagang. The location is on the same row with Leha Kelfood which was featured before this post. It's a self-service restaurant but a bit pricey. Nasi dagang costs RM4.50 and a piece of ayam kampung costs RM5.00.

In my humble opinion, self-service and high price should never come together. Self-service has saved the owner from employing more staffs and this should lower down their cost, and the price!

Leha Kelfood

Leha Kelfood is located at Taman Melati, Gombak. If you come from Taman Melawati to Karak highway, the restaurant is on your left.

When I went there one morning, there were so many people having their breakfast. There are nasi lemak, nasi goreng, roti canai and many more.

Celebs' cafe part 1

I read in today's newspaper about some film-makers and celebrities who diversify their sources of income by opening cafes and restaurants. That's a good move. I have not visit them but I will in the near future. The reviews will be posted here after they have been visited. Just hope that the foods are as good as their names.

Among the first who opened such a business is Datuk Yusof Haslam. His restaurant is Restoran Haslam. I have visited his place at Jalan Pahang behind Hospital Tawakkal. I've been here.

Actress Rubiah Suparman and lyricist Habsah Hassan open Restoran Puteri. If I am not mistaken, there 4 outlets located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kg Sg Penchala, Bandar Baru Bangi and Brickfields. I'm not really sure though. I have been to her Taman Tun and BB Bangi outlets.

Just knew that Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman opened Restoran Kereta. Where, I have yet to know.

Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina just opened her cafe at Sunway Pyramid called The Borneo Rainforest Cafe. A must visit!

Film producer, Ruhainie Abdul Rahman has something too. She opened Bazaar Fusion Cafe at Taman Tun Dr Ismail. With casual concept, the foods are sometimes cooked by herself. Famous dishes are Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu and her sister's own recipe ice blended coffee. There's more in this place but I'll write about it in it's own article. A must visit too!

Another film producer, David Teo also opened his eating outlet in Kajang. His is called Restoran Lemon. I saw it in Melodi a few weeks ago. It serves Thai and Chinese food.

MZA Corner, Kuala Terengganu

It is not easy to find a Malay restaurant serving Mamak food. But I found one at Kg Tok Jembal, about 15km from Kuala Terengganu. From morning till night, you can have all kinds of roti canai, tosai and fried dishes. There's a lot of seats to cater for family outings.
The place is near to UMT-University Malaysia Terengganu (formerly known as Kustem) and just a few kilometers from Kuala Terengganu airport. To get here, follow roadsigns to Gong Badak and Batu Rakit. At a T-junction infront of UMT, take right turn and look for the restaurant on your left hand side. So, if you happen to visit Kuala Terengganu, don't miss it!
Bye.

Pesona Cafe, Bandar Kinrara, Selangor

Pesona Cafe is located at BK5, Bandar Kinrara in Puchong, Selangor. You need to take Jalan BK 5 and pass through Petronas, 7-Eleven, a secondary school. About 2km from Petronas, you will see a small shoplots on your left. It serves western and Malaysian food such as burger, fish & chips, chicken chop, char kuey teow, nasi goreng udang, mee goreng mamak etc. The cafe's special is Nasi Goreng Pesona. Their nasi goreng kampung is served with sate. The price is just slightly above but not as high as hotel restaurants. The service is also good but sometimes you have to be patient when there are more customers as they might took more time to prepare your food. I don't mind this as I suppose they want to maintain the quality. Overall, this place is a good place to spend your dinner with your family or your loved ones.

Where to go?

When finding a place to shop or eat or anything, we sometimes get very happy or very upset. Why? Because some outlets give good service and good bargain but not all.

This blog will share some experience with shopping or eating outlets in Malaysia. At this stage, we'll focus to Klang Valley area (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor).

Have fun!
